Barbie Big DM23 Circle Lens Review

I apologize, I know that I owe you this review for a while now *shifty-eyes

Well, you should know by now that I procrastinate. A lot.
But also know that I keep my words!! *prances

I get things done... eventually.

Ahem.

Barbie Big DM23 Circle Lenses Review

Now, circle lenses are lenses with a large dark outer rim to create an enlarged iris effect. They also make your sclera (the white bit of your eyes) appear whiter due to the iris being much more defined.

Comparison: Left side with the lens, right side without any.
The diameter of these lenses is 14.5mm!
Notice the very obvious enlarging effect @__@

The only problem with circle lenses is that those with smaller eyes can look a little alien because the lenses cover too much of the sclera.

When I first put them on, I thought I looked very odd. For some reason, Josh seems to think it looks good on me and he likes these lenses on me best.

Although they look rather orange in their glass vials, they are quite natural looking as they blend well with my brown eyes.

Lenses in different lighting:
Indoor next to a window (left) and Bathroom (right)

Again, I purchased these lenses from pinkyparadise.com

 Item details
Brand : Barbie
Diameter : 14.5mm
Water Content : 38%
Base Curve : 8.6mm

Comfort:
These lenses are quite comfortable, I could wear them for up to 4 hours without a problem. However, I do find that they don't fit my eyes well so sometimes I feel that they lag a little bit when I move my eyes. They are still better-fitting than my Grey Storms!

Other effects:
Definitely much more enlarging than the Storms and my Adult Greys with its 14.5mm diameter
They are quite natural-looking as they are not orangey-brown like some lenses. They can look a bit scary close-up when you're outdoors in the sun but otherwise, they look great indoors and in pictures (flash or no-flash!).

I've gotten used to seeing myself with circle lenses now but I still don't wear them very often.
I do think that circle lenses give their wearer an instant 'cutesy' look.

Adult Grey Lenses Review

I know I promised to post this up a long time ago... and I have no excuses since I know you all will forgive me anyway *bats eyelashes

As some of you might know/remember, I purchased two pair of lenses from  www.pinkyparadise.com
I'll do each review individually in separate posts.

Pinkyparadise is a Malaysian based online store. They offer a large range of coloured lenses imported from a Korean manufacturer; they carry many popular branded lenses, and even other beauty products and accessories.

In comparison to most contacts sold in Australia, these were extremely cheap. I was able to purchase two different types of lenses for the price of my Grey Storms, and still have money left to buy bubble tea!!!

Shipping was fairly quickly, despite being sent from Malaysia.
Moreover, the people managing the store were very helpful and responded to my questions almost immediately.

I'm not sure if they still have the promotion but when I purchased my lenses, they gave me cute animal lenses for free!!

I got the piggy and the hippo! ♥

Alright, first up are E.O.S Adult Grey Lenses

*promo pic taken from website

These lenses are very very very very very very cool. The colour changes depending on the light; they look almost purple-blue in the photo above, as opposed to grey.

And when I put them on, they don't actually look grey either. They look rather blue most of the time.
Now to time of it, they don't EVER look grey on me. But that's alright, the blue/purple is so pretty, I don't mind.

 In dim light.

They actually look quite natural; not scary and as attention-seeking as my Storms.

Out of the three pairs that I own, these are my favourite.  There are plenty of reasons why these lenses reign superior to the other two and probably the rest out there in the market.

Comfort-wise these babies are great. They are so much more comfortable than the Grey Storms.
I could wear them for about 6 hours without a problem.

Although they are not as enlarging as circle lenses, there is a dark outer rim that makes a slight difference in iris size. They certain give the iris extra definition.
They fit my eyes quite well too. Some lenses can be so large that they actually don't move with your eyeballs; very annoying!

The reason I decided to get grey was because grey contacts look great on most asians. I wanted to get something that I could wear without startling people too much.

These lenses look quite natural that I even wear them to work. I get many compliments from these particular lenses. YHwee's cousin even thought I was born with blue eyes? LMAO!

Next up: Circle lens review

Have a good long weekend guys!! :D

Grey Storm Coloured Contacts by Clearly Contacts

As some of you may know, I've recently purchased coloured contact lenses.
I wasn't too sure where to start so I decided by getting these pair of lenses called "Grey Storm" by Clearly Contacts as I heard that the colour grey are great on asians.

When I first wore them, I they looked really strange on me!

Before and After

As you can see, the grey didn't blend in very well with my natural brown eye colour; making my contacts look quite unnatural close-up.

And I also noticed immediately that my pair of lenses were different!!!

Can you see the difference? The one on the right has fewer number of radial grey strokes and a larger black rim.

The difference wasn't that obvious from far anyway.
I really like them a lot!!! They're quite glassy-looking from far; giving me a teary-eyed look!

Accidental artistic shot (Wanted to show you how the lenses look like in direct sunlight)
Pretty neat, huh?? :3
